Biography
The first public ceremony connected with her name took place in Riyadh on 17 August 2022, at her father’s house: that day the Royal Hashemite Court announced the engagement of Rajwa Al Saif to Hussein, Crown Prince of Jordan.
By then she already had a profession as an architect.
She was born on 28 April 1994 in Riyadh, the youngest of four children. Her father was Khaled Al Saif (1953–2024); her mother, Azza Al Sudairi, comes from the Al Sudairi family. She finished secondary school in Riyadh and then went to the United States to study. At the Syracuse University School of Architecture she earned a Bachelor of Architecture in 2017; in those years she spelled her surname Alseif. There she also organized a symposium on start-ups and sustainable development in desert environments. She then enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles and in 2019 received an Associate of Arts degree in visual communications. Alongside her studies she worked at the Los Angeles architecture firm Patterns Design. After returning to Riyadh she moved to the design studio Designlab Experience, where she worked on interiors and event design. Besides Arabic, she speaks English and French fluently.
The wedding took place on 1 June 2023 at Zahran Palace in Amman. On the same day a royal decree gave her the title Her Royal Highness Princess Rajwa Al Hussein. At the ceremony she wore an Elie Saab gown, and at the evening reception a Dolce & Gabbana gown.
She began carrying out public duties even before the wedding: in October 2022 she visited the Royal Covenant together with Prince Hussein and his great-uncle Prince Hassan bin Talal, and in January 2023 she accompanied her fiancé to the Scent of Colour initiative, which helps blind and visually impaired people experience colour through the sense of smell. Since the wedding she has taken part in the Crown Prince’s official trips: in September 2023 they met members of the US Congress in Washington, in January 2024 they travelled to Singapore, and in October 2025 to France and the United Kingdom.
On 3 August 2024 the couple had a daughter, Princess Iman.
