Nikita Mirzani
Nikita Mirzani (b. 1986) entered Indonesian show business through the television programme Take Me Out Indonesia and made her film debut in 2010 with a bit part in “Lihat Boleh, Pegang Jangan”. She appeared in horror films and comedies, recorded several singles, hosted television programmes and in 2018 published a book, “The Naked Nikita”.
Biography
In 2012 Nikita Mirzani played Carolina, the director of a children’s camp, in the horror parody “Mama Minta Pulsa”. The role set her apart from other actresses in Indonesian genre cinema.
She was born on 17 March 1986 in Jakarta. Her path into the profession began with television: she took part in the reality show Take Me Out Indonesia, the Indonesian version of an international format. She made her film debut in 2010, as an extra in “Lihat Boleh, Pegang Jangan”. How many small parts she played before 2012 is hard to say, but the filmography for 2011 lists “Perempuan-Perempuan Liar”. In 2012 she had one of the leading roles in the horror film “Nenek Gayung”, and in the same year she appeared in “Mama Minta Pulsa”, in “Pacarku Kuntilanak Kembar” and in “Tali Pocong Perawan 2”. The following years were taken up mostly by the same genre and films close to it: in 2013 came “Pantai Selatan”, “Pokun Roxy” and “Taman Lawang”. In 2014 she appeared in “Comic 8” and in “Drakula Cinta”, and in 2015 in the sequel “Comic 8: Casino Kings”. The list shows that cinema was not a single direction for her: horror, parody and comedy ran side by side. She is sometimes called a businesswoman, but there is little in the available material about that side of her activity, and I leave it out of the text.
In parallel she worked in music. Her first single, “Baby I Hate You”, came out in 2012, followed by “Mau-Maunya” in 2013 and “Kode-Kodean” in 2016. In the same year, 2016, she recorded “Money and Love”, a song for the film “Moammar Emka’s Jakarta Undercover”. Later came “Selalu Salah” (2020) and “Nikita Gang”, recorded with Young Lex (2021).
From 2017 her work on television became more prominent. She took part in the fourth season of “Bintang Pantura” and the third season of “Stand Up Comedy Academy”, both in 2017, and in 2017–2018 she appeared in the morning programme “Pagi Pagi Pasti Happy”. From 2019 to 2021 she worked on “Nih Kita Kepo”. In 2020 she was in “Cemceman” and “Brownis Jalan-Jalan”, and in several episodes of the cooking programme “Bikin Laper”, of which she became a regular host in 2021. In 2020–2021 she also took part in the health show “Yuk Sehat bersama dr. Oky Pratama”. In 2021 “Pansos (Panggung Sketsa Oh Seru)” was broadcast.
In 2018 her book “The Naked Nikita: Rahasia yang Belum Terungkap” was published. In 2023 she appeared in the programme “Kampus Kak Niki”.
