Joseph Mallord William Turner, known as William Turner, was born on April 23, 1775, in Covent Garden, London. He was an English painter, watercolorist, and engraver, celebrated as a master of Romantic landscape painting. Throughout his life, Turner created more than 550 oil paintings, approximately 2,000 watercolors, and around 30,000 works on paper. His art is associated with the Romantic era and the tradition of English painting. Turner worked in various genres including landscape, marine art, and historical painting. He is regarded as a significant figure in the visual arts within the Kingdom of Great Britain and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Turner died on December 19, 1851, in Cheyne Walk, United Kingdom.
