Daumier became renowned as a master of numerous caricatures that depicted the social and political life of 19th-century France. His work is associated with the Realism movement, emphasizing the realities of society at that time. In addition to caricature art, he also worked as an illustrator and graphic artist. Among the genres he explored were figure drawing and caricature. Honoré Daumier died on February 10, 1879, in Valmondois.
