Biography

In 2024 Emman Atienza enrolled in an intensive art and design course at the Parsons School of Design Summer Academy in New York. She was eighteen, and by then she was already known in the Philippines as a maker of short videos.

She was born on 8 February 2006 in Manila, the youngest of three children. Her father, Kim Atienza, is a television host; her mother, Felicia Hung-Atienza, is a Taiwanese educator and conservationist who headed the Philippine Eagle Foundation. Her grandfather, Lito Atienza, was mayor of Manila. English was mostly spoken at home. She first attended the Chinese International School Manila, then finished secondary school at International School Manila, where she was vice president of the photography club. She kept her own work on a separate online page. She did a lot of sport: gymnastics, ballet, rock climbing, free diving, swimming. In 2018 she won several medals at the British School Manila’s Spring Invitational Gymnastics Meet.

Her fame came from TikTok and Instagram. She posted light, jokey videos, spoke about social issues and talked candidly about herself. The nickname “Conyo Final Boss” alluded to her fluent English accent: in the Philippines, “conyo” is a label for people who speak English in the manner of the urban elite. Asked whether the nickname made her any less Filipino, she laughed and said it did not. She herself said that she never used social media for money, only for the pleasure of self-expression and of talking with her audience. In 2023 she joined Status by Sparkle, the digital influencer division of Sparkle GMA Artist Center, which described her as an up-and-coming influencer, fashion lover and Gen Z personality. She also worked as a model: she attended workshops with Farrah Models Philippines and the Coco Rocha Model Camp in New York, and made her runway debut at Bench Fashion Week in 2022. She worked with Liz Uy’s Stylized Studio and the photographers Meetkeso and Doc Marlon Pecjo on a fashion shoot.

In 2022 she founded Mentality Manila, a youth-led organization that aimed to destigmatize mental illness and create safe spaces for talking about it. The idea grew out of her own experience: she had been in therapy since the age of twelve. She spoke publicly about recovery, resilience and her own privilege, and often called herself a “nepo baby”. She supported solidarity actions for Palestine and took part in volunteer work with One Race for Filipino Services, which helps underprivileged communities.

Not everything in her public life went smoothly. In 2022 some users thought her photos too revealing; she responded by posting their comments with the caption “Lol, can’t see the haters.” In 2024 her “Guess the Bill” video drew criticism: in it she and Krishnah Gravidez, Miss World Philippines 2024, guessed the cost of a birthday dinner, and the restaurant bill came to ₱133,423.99. She explained that the dinner had been sponsored and used the occasion to talk about class awareness. In 2025 she said that she was receiving threats from supporters of Rodrigo Duterte, and that she had decided to deactivate her TikTok account because it had become hard to stay authentic online. In August 2025 she moved to Los Angeles.

Her last TikTok video was posted on 20 October 2025: friends jumping into a lake, hiking, rock climbing, relaxing on the beach and getting ready for Halloween.

Emman Atienza died on 22 October 2025 in Santa Monica, California. She was nineteen. Her parents announced her death on 24 October. Her cremated remains arrived in the Philippines on 1 November, and the wake was held at The Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig on 3–4 November. The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and the University of the Philippines Madrigal Singers performed there. Her ashes were later placed in the columbarium of the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Makati.

After her death a bill against online bullying and harassment was filed in the Philippine Senate, informally called the “Emman Atienza Bill”. Senator JV Ejercito filed it on 3 November, and the Manila City Council supported it on 7 November. In the House of Representatives, Albee Benitez filed the “Emman Act” on 4 November, which provides for fines of up to one million pesos for certain forms of online harassment. Sparkle named its campaign “Click Kindness”.
