Zvest Apollonio

Biography

Zvest Apollonio was born on May 15, 1935, in the city of Koper. Throughout his life, he worked as an artist, printmaker, illustrator, designer, and stage designer. His professional activity encompassed multiple directions in fine and applied arts. Apollonio maintained close ties with the cultural environment of Slovenia as well as the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Free Territory of Trieste, and the Kingdom of Italy. He lived and developed creatively within these regions, contributing to their artistic life. Zvest Apollonio passed away on March 25, 2009, in Bertoki. During his lifetime, he left a significant mark on 20th-century visual art, engaging in a variety of creative endeavors and combining several artistic professions in his work.
