Zinaida Serebriakova
Zinaida Evgenievna Serebriakova (1884–1967) was a Russian and French artist known for her Impressionist portraits. A student of Osip Braz and member of the Mir Iskusstva association, she significantly contributed to Russian visual art. Born in Neskuchnoye, she died in Paris.
Biography
Zinaida Evgenievna Serebriakova was born on November 28, 1884, in Neskuchnoye. She was a Russian and French artist best known as a portrait painter and representative of Impressionism. Serebriakova was a member of the Mir Iskusstva (World of Art) association and made a significant contribution to the development of Russian visual art as one of the first Russian women to enter the history of painting. She studied under the artist Osip Braz. Throughout her life, Zinaida Evgenievna worked within various cultural contexts, including the Russian Empire, the RSFSR, the USSR, and France. In her later years, she lived and passed away in Paris on September 19, 1967. In addition to painting, Serebriakova was also active as an art figure. The primary genre of her work was portraiture executed in the Impressionist style.
