Zdeněk Miler
Zdeněk Miler (February 21, 1921 – November 30, 2011) was a Czech animator, illustrator, and director, best known for creating the children's series about the Mole, produced since 1957. He collaborated closely with Jiří Trnka's Prague studio.
Biography
Zdeněk Miler was born on February 21, 1921, in Kladno, Czech Republic. He gained recognition as an animator, illustrator, director, screenwriter, caricaturist, and visual artist. Miler is renowned for creating the children’s animated series about the Mole (original title "Krtek"), which has been produced by the Prague Short Film Studio since 1957. In addition to this, he worked closely with the studio "Jiří Trnka and Brothers in T-shirts," for which he designed the studio's logo. In 1986, Zdeněk Miler was honored with the title of Merited Artist of Czechoslovakia. He passed away on November 30, 2011, in Nová Ves pod Pleší, Czech Republic.
