William Orpen
William Orpen (November 27, 1878 – September 29, 1931) was an English and Irish artist, recognized as a leading figure of Impressionism in the British Isles. He specialized in portraiture and played a significant role in the visual arts of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

William Nevenham Montague Orpen (November 27, 1878, Stillorgan – September 29, 1931, London) was an English and Irish artist, considered one of the foremost representatives of Impressionism in the British Isles. He specialized in portraiture and is regarded as an important figure in the visual arts of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Orpen held cultural ties to four political entities: Great Britain, Ireland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and the Irish Free State. Among his notable works is the painting titled "The Café Royal in London." Throughout his career, William Orpen combined the roles of artist and arts professional. His life concluded in London in 1931.
