Biography

Wilfredo Prieto was born in 1978 in the city of Sancti Spíritus, Cuba. He is a Cuban conceptual artist and master of installations, as well as an active figure in visual arts. In his work, Prieto employs absurd and subversive humor aimed at exploring and reflecting contemporary politics and the current socio-political state of the world. His art offers an unconventional perspective on the events and processes occurring in modern society. Prieto belongs to the generation of artists who create after 1945 and continues to develop conceptual art within both Cuban and global cultural traditions.
