Biography

Wassily Vasilyevich Kandinsky was born on December 4, 1866, in Moscow. He became one of the key artists of the Russian diaspora and a leading ideological figure of abstract art. Kandinsky worked as a painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and art theorist. He co-founded the "New Munich Artist Association," which later evolved into the "Blue Rider" group. His artistic activity encompassed movements such as expressionism, symbolism, and the Bauhaus. Kandinsky worked in genres including abstraction and landscape. His professional roles were diverse, ranging from graphic artist and illustrator to university professor, stage designer, and writer. He lived and worked in various cultural contexts, including the Russian Empire, RSFSR, USSR, France, and Germany. Wassily Vasilyevich passed away on December 13, 1944, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. Among his notable works is "Composition VII."
