Vojin Bakić
Vojin Bakić (1915–1992) was a Yugoslav sculptor of Serbian origin known for his work in modernism. He became a full member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 1977. His career spanned various state formations of the 20th century.
Biography
Vojin Bakić was born on June 5, 1915, in Bjelovar. He was a Yugoslav sculptor of Serbian descent and an active figure in the arts. Throughout his lifetime, Bakić was associated with several state entities, including Hungary, the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the Independent State of Croatia, the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and Croatia. His artistic development progressed within the modernist style. In 1977, Vojin Bakić became a full member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. He passed away on December 18, 1992, in Zagreb.
