Vladimir Grigoryevich Suteev (1903–1993) was a Soviet writer, illustrator, and animation director. Honored Artist of the RSFSR in 1965, he was a pioneer of Soviet animation and a participant in the Great Patriotic War.

Biography

Vladimir Grigoryevich Suteev was born on July 5, 1903, in Moscow. He gained recognition as a Soviet writer, illustrator, animation director, and screenwriter. In 1965, he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Suteev is regarded as one of the founders of domestic animation. Throughout his life, he participated in the Great Patriotic War. His career spanned multiple historical and cultural periods, including the Russian Empire, the RSFSR, the USSR, and modern Russia. He lived his entire life in Moscow, where he passed away on March 10, 1993.
