Vladimir Lisunov
Vladimir Lisunov (1940–2000) was a Russian nonconformist artist, poet, philosopher, and mystic. Active in Leningrad's unofficial art scene from the 1960s to the 1980s, he was known as 'Lis' among peers and remained closely connected to his native city of Saint Petersburg.
Biography
Vladimir Evgenievich Lisunov was born on March 21, 1940, in Saint Petersburg. He was a Russian nonconformist artist who also expressed himself as a poet, philosopher, romantic, and mystic. Lisunov was one of the representatives of Leningrad's unofficial art of the 1960s through the 1980s. His work resonated with fellow artists and close associates who knew him by the nickname 'Lis.' Throughout his life, he maintained a close connection to his native city of Saint Petersburg, where he passed away on July 27, 2000.
