Uragami Gyokudō, born Uragami Kohitsu in 1745 in Okayama, was a multifaceted Japanese cultural figure of the Edo period. He was recognized as an artist, musician, poet, and calligrapher. His artistic work exemplified the nanga style, reflecting his distinctive role within Japanese art of his time. In addition to the pseudonym Gyokudō, he also used the name Bokusai. Among his notable works is a piece titled Snow Sifted Through Frozen Clouds. Uragami Gyokudō passed away on October 10, 1820, in Kyoto. His diverse contributions spanned various spheres of Japanese culture, leaving a significant mark on its artistic and poetic traditions.
