Ucha Japaridze

Ucha Malakievich Japaridze (1906–1988) was a Soviet Georgian painter, graphic artist, and educator. Born in Gari and died in Tbilisi, he became an academician of the USSR Academy of Arts in 1958 and was named People's Artist of the USSR in 1963. He received the Stalin Prize, 2nd class, in 1942.

Ucha Malakievich Japaridze was born on August 4, 1906, in the town of Gari. He was a Soviet Georgian painter, graphic artist, and educator, recognized as a significant figure in Soviet art. In 1958, Japaridze was honored with the title of Academician of the USSR Academy of Arts, and in 1963 he was awarded the title People's Artist of the USSR. In 1942, he received the Stalin Prize, 2nd class, reflecting recognition of his contribution to the development of Soviet artistic heritage. Throughout his creative life, Japaridze worked within the sphere of visual arts under the Soviet cultural environment. He passed away on July 6, 1988, in Tbilisi, leaving behind a considerable artistic legacy.
