Théo van Rysselberghe was born on November 23, 1862, in Ghent, Belgium. He was a versatile artist linked to the Neo-Impressionism movement. Van Rysselberghe mainly worked in the portrait genre. Throughout his career, he combined various roles such as painter, designer, draftsman, graphic artist, sculptor, visual arts figure, lithographer, illustrator, engraver, watercolor artist, and etcher. His name is associated with notable works including "Emile Verhaeren," "Study of a Female Nude," and "Portrait of Marguerite van Mons." Théo van Rysselberghe died on December 14, 1926, in Le Lavandou, Belgium.
