Biography

Theo van Gogh was born on May 1, 1857, in Zundert, Kingdom of the Netherlands. Throughout his life, he worked in the field of art as an art dealer, artist, and collector. Theo was the younger brother of the renowned painter Vincent van Gogh. Thanks to Theo's constant financial and moral support, Vincent was able to dedicate himself entirely to painting. In his professional career, Theo van Gogh played a crucial role in introducing and popularizing modern French art to the public. He died on January 25, 1891, in Utrecht. Theo van Gogh maintained cultural ties with the Kingdom of the Netherlands and made a noticeable contribution to the art dealer sphere of his time.
