Tenga Rinpoche

Tenga Rinpoche (1932–2012) was a Tibetan lama and artist, recognized as the third reincarnation of Samten Lama. He held a prominent position within the Karma Kagyu lineage and was a leading tulku of the Benchen Monastery. Born in Nangchen, he passed away in Kathmandu.

Biography

Tenga Rinpoche was born on August 6, 1932, in Nangchen, Tibet. He was the third reincarnation of Samten Lama and held a high lama status within the hierarchy of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. As one of the principal tulkus of the Benchen Monastery, Tenga Rinpoche wielded significant influence within the religious tradition. In addition to his spiritual work, he was also known as an artist. Tenga Rinpoche passed away on March 30, 2012, in Kathmandu. His activities were situated within the cultural tradition of Tibet and encompassed both religious service and artistic creation.
