Tang Da Wu
Tang Da Wu is a Singaporean artist and sculptor working across drawing, painting, installation, and performance. Born in 1943, he studied at Birmingham Polytechnic and Goldsmiths College, University of London. He began exhibiting solo in 1970 and has been active in Singapore's contemporary art scene since.
Biography
Tang Da Wu was born in 1943 in Singapore. He is an artist and sculptor working in the field of contemporary art. He received his education at Birmingham Polytechnic and Goldsmiths College, University of London. His first solo art exhibition took place in 1970 at the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and featured drawings and paintings. After completing his bachelor's degree in 1979 and returning to Singapore, he began engaging in performance art. Tang Da Wu works in various artistic media including drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, and performance. He belongs to the cultural environment of Singapore and actively represents contemporary art from his country.
