Stojan Batič (1925–2015) was a Slovenian sculptor known for his figurative sculptures displayed in numerous public spaces across Slovenia. His life and work spanned significant historical periods within the former Yugoslavia.

Biography

Stojan Batič was born on June 2, 1925, in the town of Trbovlje. Throughout his life, he was a sculptor with national and cultural ties to Slovenia, as well as historical connections to the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. As a figurative artist, Batič gained recognition for his sculptures exhibited in many public places throughout Slovenia. His body of work constitutes a significant contribution to the development of Slovenian culture. Stojan Batič died on September 17, 2015, in Ljubljana. His life and creative output encompass important historical periods, including several state formations within the territory of the former Yugoslavia.
