Sokari Douglas Camp was born in 1958 in Buguma, Nigeria. She is an artist, sculptor, and cinematographer. In her work, Camp employs figurative style and operates within the directions of contemporary art and art feminism. Her activities have been recognized not only in Nigeria but also internationally. She received the Henry Moore Foundation scholarship and in 2005 was awarded the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). Sokari Douglas Camp is based in London and has participated in numerous exhibitions worldwide.
