Biography

Sidney Robert Nolan was born on April 22, 1917, in Carlton, Australia. He became a distinguished Australian abstract painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and figure in the visual arts. Throughout his creative career, Nolan was linked with the artistic movement known as Angry Penguins, which had a significant influence on Australian art. Among his most famous works are the paintings "Daisy Bates at Ooldea," "Footballer," and "The Trial." On November 28, 1992, Nolan passed away in London. His body of work remains an important part of Australian cultural history and continues to attract the attention of art historians and enthusiasts.
