Throughout his creative career, Shen Zhou combined various forms of art: he was a painter, writer, poet, and calligrapher. The main genre of his works was landscape, reflecting the artistic trends in China during that period. Shen Zhou had a notable influence on the development of Chinese art, setting a high standard of artistic mastery and became one of the prominent representatives of the culture of the Ming dynasty. His works continue to be studied and appreciated both in China and worldwide. Shen Zhou died in 1509.
