Seif Wanly

Seif Wanly (1906–1979) was an Egyptian artist born in Alexandria during the Ottoman Empire. Known as Mohammed Seif al-Din Wanly, he worked throughout the 20th century and left a notable impact on Egyptian art. He died in Stockholm in 1979.

Biography

Mohammed Seif al-Din Wanly, better known as Seif Wanly, was born on March 31, 1906, in Alexandria, which was then part of the Ottoman Empire. He gained recognition as an Egyptian artist actively working during the twentieth century. Throughout his life, Wanly lived and created art that combined the cultural traditions of Egypt with the heritage of the Ottoman Empire. He died on February 15, 1979, in Stockholm.
