Ruy Alexandre Guerra Coelho Pereira was born on August 22, 1931, in Maputo, Mozambique. He is a Brazilian film director and actor actively involved in the development of Third Cinema. His work is closely linked with the cinematic movement known as New Brazilian Cinema, which has made a significant contribution to contemporary Brazilian film.
