Roy Fox Lichtenstein was an American artist and representative of Pop Art. Born in Manhattan, New York, in 1923, he worked as a painter, sculptor, designer, and university instructor. He died in Manhattan on September 15, 1997.

Roy Fox Lichtenstein was an American visual artist most known as a representative of the Pop Art movement. He was born on October 27, 1923, in Manhattan, New York, USA. Over the course of his creative career, Lichtenstein was active in various fields: he worked as a painter, sculptor, lithographer, designer, printmaker and graphic artist, stage designer, university instructor, jewelry designer, and film director. His oeuvre includes numerous well-known works such as "Girl with Ball," "Look Mickey," "Blam," "Wedding Ring," "Ten Dollar Bill," "I Can See the Whole Room... and There's Nobody in It!," "Times Square Mural," "Electric Cord," "Girl with Hair Ribbon," and "Takka-Takka." Roy Lichtenstein lived a life mostly connected to New York, where he passed away on September 15, 1997, in Manhattan. His legacy remains a part of American art culture of the 20th century.
