Rosaleen Norton
Rosaleen Miriam Norton, known as 'Thorn,' was an Australian artist and occultist who practiced a pantheistic neopagan witchcraft tradition centered on the Greek god Pan. She spent much of her life in Sydney's bohemian Kings Cross district.
Biography
Rosaleen Miriam Norton was born on October 2, 1917, in Dunedin. She was an Australian artist, occultist, and witch. Her occult practice followed a form of pantheistic neopagan witchcraft primarily devoted to the Greek god Pan. In her later years, Norton lived in the bohemian Kings Cross area of Sydney, where she was nicknamed the 'Witch of Kings Cross' by some tabloids. In this district, she also led her own coven of witches. Rosaleen Norton died on December 5, 1979, in Darlinghurst, Sydney. She left a significant legacy as a practitioner of the arts and graphic artist, as well as an occultist and witch, combining her artistic creativity with occult practices.
