Rasim Babayev
Rasim Ganifa oglu Babayev (1927–2007) was an Azerbaijani artist and illustrator, mainly known for his portraits. Honored as People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR in 1988, he lived and worked in Baku throughout his life, representing the cultural environment of the USSR and Azerbaijan.
Biography
Rasim Ganifa oglu Babayev was born on December 31, 1927, in Baku. An Azerbaijani artist and illustrator, he is primarily recognized for his portrait work. In 1988, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR. Babayev’s entire life and creative activity are closely tied to the city of Baku, where he was born and where he passed away on April 24, 2007. He was a representative of the cultural milieu of both the USSR and Azerbaijan, within which he worked and created. His contribution to art reflects the traditions and artistic movements that developed in Azerbaijan during the 20th century.
