Ramón Alva de la Canal was born on August 29, 1892, in Mexico City, Mexico. He became one of the prominent Mexican artists of the 20th century and made a significant contribution to the development of national art. Ramón Alva de la Canal was not only an artist but also an illustrator, graphic artist, engraver, theater director, and educator. He is considered one of the founders of the Mexican muralism movement, which influenced the development of monumental art in the country. Throughout his life, he held positions as an art teacher, university lecturer, and school director, reflecting his pedagogical work and contribution to education. Ramón Alva de la Canal left a substantial legacy in the fields of art and national culture. He died on April 4, 1985, in his hometown, Mexico City.
