Rai San'yō
Rai San'yō (1780–1832) was a Japanese Confucian scholar, thinker, historian, artist, and poet born in Edobori. He authored the work Nihon Gaishi and was also engaged in literary activities. Rai San'yō died in Sanbongi.

Rai San'yō (Japanese: 頼山陽) was born on January 21, 1780, in Edobori, Japan. He was a Japanese Confucian scholar, thinker, historian, artist, poet, and writer who lived in the second half of the Edo period. His main areas of activity included history and literature, and he was also known as an erudite. Rai San'yō is the author of the notable work Nihon Gaishi. He passed away on October 16, 1832, in Sanbongi. Throughout his life, he contributed to the development of Japanese culture by combining philosophical and artistic pursuits.
