Prince Henrik of Denmark
Prince Henrik of Denmark (born Henri Marie Jean André, Count de Laborde de Monpezat) was a Danish prince-consort, writer, poet, and artist. Born in 1934 in Talence, France, he served as a public figure and cultural contributor. He was the husband of Queen Margrethe II and father of King Frederik X. He died in 2018 in Fredensborg, Denmark.
Biography
Prince Henrik of Denmark, born Henri Marie Jean André, Count de Laborde de Monpezat, was born on June 11, 1934, in Talence, Gironde, France. He was of aristocratic origin and held the title of Prince-Consort of Denmark throughout his life. Henrik was a statesman, military officer, and public figure of the Kingdom of Denmark. Additionally, he was recognized as a writer, poet, pianist, sculptor, and visual arts figure. Throughout his life, Prince Henrik acted as a cultural and national figure, bridging French and Danish traditions. He was the spouse of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and the father of King Frederik X. Prince Henrik passed away on February 13, 2018, in the city of Fredensborg, located in the Hovedstaden region of Denmark.
