Piotr Belousov
Piotr Petrovich Belousov (1912–1989) was a Russian Soviet painter and graphic artist based in Leningrad, known for his historical paintings on Leninist themes and early Soviet decades. A close student of Isaak Brodsky and an educator, he was a member of the USSR Union of Artists and the Academy of Arts.
Biography
Piotr Petrovich Belousov was born on May 16, 1912, in Berdyansk. He was a Russian Soviet painter and graphic artist who worked in Leningrad. Belousov was a close disciple of Isaak Brodsky and also served as an educator. He excelled in historical paintings dedicated to Leniniana and the first decades of the Soviet Union. His work additionally included portraits and landscapes. He was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and a corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. In 1976, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR. Piotr Petrovich Belousov passed away on March 31, 1989, in Saint Petersburg. His artistic style is realism.
