Pierre Alechinsky was born on October 19, 1927, in Schaerbeek, Belgium. He is a Belgian painter, graphic artist, and book illustrator. Throughout his career, Alechinsky worked in various artistic movements including expressionism, COBRA, tachisme, abstract expressionism, and lyrical abstraction. Besides painting and graphic arts, he is also recognized as a ceramist, draftsman, printmaker, writer, illustrator, etcher, art figure, filmmaker, linocut artist, sculptor, and lithographer. Culturally and nationally, Alechinsky is connected with France and Belgium. Among his notable works is the piece titled "Al Alimón."
