Biography

Philip Guston was born on June 27, 1913, in Montreal. He became known as an American artist and cultural figure. Throughout his career, Guston worked in various genres including abstraction and figuration. His work is associated with the movements of Abstract Expressionism and Neo-Expressionism. Guston expressed himself as a painter, illustrator, lithographer, printmaker, muralist, architectural draftsman, and designer.
