Peder Severin Krøyer
Peder Severin Krøyer (1851–1909) was a Danish realist painter and cultural figure, known as a representative of Impressionism. He is recognized for his portraits and works depicting nature and coastal life in Skagen.
Biography
Peder Severin Krøyer was born on July 23, 1851, in Stavanger. He was a Danish realist painter, as well as a sculptor, graphic artist, and cultural figure. Throughout his creative career, Krøyer became one of the prominent representatives of Impressionism. His works include portrait and landscape genres. He is known for significant works such as "Hip, Hip, Hurra!", "Summer Evening on the South Beach at Skagen", "Summer Evening in Skagen. The Artist's Wife and Dog on the Shore", "Bonfire on the Eve of the Summer Solstice on the Beach at Skagen", "The Men of Industry", "The Hirschsprung Family Portrait", and "Roses". Peder Severin Krøyer died on November 21, 1909, in Skagen. His work is connected to the cultural environments of both Norway and the Kingdom of Denmark.
