Parviz Tanavoli
Parviz Tanavoli, born in 1937 in Tehran, is an Iranian sculptor, artist, writer, and arts figure associated with modern art movements, Hurufiyya, and the Saqqa-khaneh school. Since 1989, he has lived in Vancouver, Canada, continuing his creative and academic work.

Biography
Parviz Tanavoli was born on March 23, 1937, in Tehran. He is an Iranian sculptor, artist, university professor, writer, and arts figure. Tanavoli is connected to the modern art movements, Hurufiyya, and the Saqqa-khaneh school. At the beginning of his career, he gained recognition as an artist incorporating elements of abstraction. Since 1989, Parviz Tanavoli has resided in Vancouver, Canada, where he continues his creative and scholarly activities. He is also known as an art collector and a scholar who has made a notable contribution to the development of Iranian contemporary art. Tanavoli holds dual national and cultural identity — Iranian and Canadian.
