Biography
Otobong Nkanga was born on September 13, 1974, in Kano, Nigeria. She is an artist whose practice includes sculpture, photography, drawing, performance, installation, and other visual arts disciplines, demonstrating the diversity of her artistic language. Currently based in Antwerp, Belgium, she integrates her Nigerian cultural background into the themes and content of her work. In 2015, Otobong Nkanga was awarded the Yanghyun Prize, recognizing her contribution to contemporary art.
