Oskar Herman
Oskar Herman (March 17, 1886 – January 18, 1974) was a Croatian artist of Jewish origin and a member of the "Munich Circle." He was a representative of Expressionism and contributed significantly to Croatian modern art.
Biography
Oskar Herman was born on March 17, 1886, in Zagreb. A Croatian artist of Jewish descent, he made a notable contribution to the development of Croatian modern art. Herman was part of a group of artists known as the "Munich Circle," which had a strong influence on Croatian artistic culture. His work is associated with the Expressionist movement. Throughout his life, he also participated as a resistance fighter and was an active figure in the arts. Herman lived his entire life in Zagreb, where he passed away on January 18, 1974. His national and cultural identity is Croatian, and it is in this country that he left a significant artistic legacy.
