Olafur Eliasson

Biography

Olafur Eliasson is a contemporary Danish-Icelandic artist, born on February 5, 1967, in Copenhagen. He works in the genres of abstraction and installation, as well as in contemporary and light art. Among his most famous works is the installation "The Weather Project," presented in the Turbine Hall of Tate Modern in London in 2003. In the same year, Eliasson represented Denmark at the Venice Biennale. Eliasson holds numerous professional roles, including stage designer, sculptor, scenographer, photographer, installation artist, visual art practitioner, artist, television actor, film actor, film director, musician, landscape architect, and light artist. His cultural and national connections encompass the Kingdom of Denmark, Iceland, and Germany. Other notable works include the series "Riverbed" and "New York City Waterfalls."
