Odili Donald Odita was born in 1966 in the city of Enugu, Nigeria. He is an artist working in the genre of abstraction and connected to the postmodern art movement. His work is deeply inspired by the vibrant textile traditions of Nigeria, which he combines with patterns of Western modernism. Most of his works are large-scale abstract compositions featuring rich, saturated color schemes that are regarded as expressive and thought-provoking. Among his notable pieces are "Gravity's Rainbow" and "Kaleidoscope." He currently lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
