Nikolay Krymov

Nikolay Petrovich Krymov (1884–1958) was a Russian and Soviet painter and educator. Known for his landscape paintings, he was associated with Symbolism. Krymov was named People's Artist of the RSFSR and was a corresponding member of the Academy of Arts.

Biography

Nikolay Petrovich Krymov was born on April 20, 1884, in Moscow. He was an artist, painter, educator, screenwriter, art theorist, and graphic artist. Krymov worked primarily in the genre of landscape painting and was associated with the Symbolist movement. Throughout his life, he lived and worked within the territories of the Russian Empire and later the Soviet Union. In 1949, Krymov was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. In 1956, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR. Nikolay Petrovich Krymov passed away on May 6, 1958, in Moscow.
