Nguyễn Gia Trí
Nguyễn Gia Trí (1908–1993) was a Vietnamese artist renowned for his lacquer paintings. Born in Trường Yên, he also created political and social cartoons often critiquing French colonial rule. He died in Ho Chi Minh City.

Nguyễn Gia Trí, born in 1908 in Trường Yên, was a distinguished Vietnamese artist best known for his lacquer works. Throughout his life, he produced notable pieces such as "Standing Screen" and "North Central South Spring Garden." In addition to painting, Nguyễn Gia Trí created political and social cartoons, many of which contained criticism of the French colonial regime. His work reflects the complex historical and cultural realities of Vietnam in the first half of the 20th century. The artist passed away in 1993 in Ho Chi Minh City, leaving a significant legacy in 20th-century Vietnamese art.
