Ng Eng Teng
Ng Eng Teng (July 12, 1934 – November 4, 2001) was a Singaporean sculptor and arts figure known for his figurative sculptures, including the bronze works "Mother and Child" and "The Explorer," displayed in public spaces throughout Singapore.
Biography
Ng Eng Teng was born on July 12, 1934, in Singapore. He was a Singaporean artist and sculptor recognized for his figurative sculptures that adorn public spaces across Singapore. Among his most notable works are the bronze sculpture "Mother and Child," located near the Far East shopping center on Orchard Road, and the sculpture "The Explorer," placed at the entrance of the Singapore Art Museum. In recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to the Singaporean art scene, Ng Eng Teng was awarded the Cultural Medallion in 1981. He passed away on November 4, 2001, in Singapore.
