Nandalal Bose (1882–1966) was an Indian painter, printmaker, and writer born in Tarapur. He was a pioneer of modern Indian art and a key figure in the movement known as Contextual Modernism. Bose died in Santiniketan.

Nandalal Bose was born on December 3, 1882, in Tarapur, India. He was a painter, printmaker, and writer. Bose is regarded as one of the pioneers of modern Indian art and a key figure in the movement known as Contextual Modernism. Throughout his life, he lived and worked within British India and later the Indian Union. Nandalal Bose passed away on April 16, 1966, in Santiniketan. His contribution to art is recognized as significant in the development of the modern Indian artistic tradition.
