Nam June Paik
Nam June Paik (1932–2006) was a Korean-American-German artist and pioneer of video art. Born in Seoul and died in Miami, he was associated with Fluxus and neo-Dada movements. He worked as a photographer, video artist, composer, university professor, and installation artist.
Biography
Nam June Paik was born on July 20, 1932, in Seoul. He became a prominent artist and a founder of video art, pioneering new media. Throughout his career, he engaged in multiple professions including video artist, photographer, composer, university professor, performance artist, television producer, installation artist, and multimedia artist. Paik was affiliated with the Fluxus and neo-Dada art movements. Among his notable works is "Internet Dream." Over his lifetime, he held citizenships of the United States, Germany, and the Republic of Korea. Nam June Paik passed away on January 29, 2006, in Miami. His creative work left a significant impact on installation art and video art.
