Munira Mosli
Munira Mosli (1954–2019) was a Saudi artist and plastic artist known for using copper, natural dyes, palm fibers, plants, paper, and papyrus, often employing collage techniques. Her work reflected themes from the Arab world, nature, poetry, and the universe.
Biography
Munira Mosli was born in 1954 in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and died in 2019 in Jeddah. She was an artist and plastic artist whose work primarily involved diverse materials including copper, natural dyes, palm fibers, plants, paper, and papyrus. She often applied collage techniques in her artistic practice. Mosli’s work reflected events from the Arab world, human archaeology, music, nature, poetry, and the universe as a whole. Her artworks were exhibited across Arab countries. In 1994, she collaborated with the Arab Gulf Programme for the United Nations Development Programme. Following her death, a decision was made in Saudi Arabia to rename one of the art galleries in her honor.
