Minas Avetisyan
Minas Avetisyan (1928—1975) was an Armenian artist known for his work in fauvism, modernism, early avant-garde, and the Russian 'severe style.' He was honored as an Artist of the Armenian SSR in 1968. Born in Dzhadzhur, he worked throughout the USSR and died in Yerevan.
Biography
Minas Karapetovich Avetisyan was born on July 20, 1928, in Dzhadzhur. He was an Armenian artist who worked in styles including fauvism, modernism, early avant-garde, and the Russian 'severe style.' His creative activity was associated with the abstract expressionism movement. In 1968, Minas Avetisyan was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR. His entire life and career took place within the territory of the USSR. Minas Avetisyan passed away on February 23, 1975, in Yerevan.
