Mikhail Tsekhanovsky
Mikhail Mikhailovich Tsekhanovsky (1889–1965) was a Soviet artist, animation director, illustrator, screenwriter, and animator. Born in Khmelnytskyi, he worked across the Russian Empire, RSFSR, and USSR. In 1964, he was honored as a Meritorious Artist of the RSFSR.
Biography
Mikhail Mikhailovich Tsekhanovsky was born on June 7, 1889, in Khmelnytskyi, then part of the Russian Empire. Throughout his life, he was connected with the cultural spaces of the Russian Empire, the RSFSR, and the USSR. Tsekhanovsky was known as an artist and animation director, as well as an illustrator, screenwriter, and animator. For his contributions to the arts, he was awarded the honorary title of Meritorious Artist of the RSFSR in 1964. In addition to his work in animation, he was involved in film directing and was an author of diaries. Mikhail Mikhailovich died on June 22, 1965, in Moscow.
