Mikayil Abdullayev
Mikayil Abdullayev (1921–2002) was a Soviet and Azerbaijani painter, graphic artist, monumental artist, stage designer, and educator. Born and died in Baku. He was named People's Artist of the USSR in 1963 and specialized in portrait and graphic art.
Biography
Mikayil Huseyn oghlu Abdullayev was born on December 19, 1921, in Baku. He was a Soviet and Azerbaijani artist who combined several creative professions: painter, graphic artist, monumental artist, stage designer, and educator. His work was connected both with Azerbaijan and the USSR. In Abdullayev's art, graphic art and the portrait genre held a special place. In 1963, he was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the USSR. Mikayil Abdullayev passed away on August 21, 2002, in his hometown of Baku. His multifaceted creative activity left a notable mark on the art of Azerbaijan and the Soviet cultural space.
